Day 9: Silence

Silence sings the sweetest song,
A song I long to hear.
Its delicate, melodious voice lulls,
My soul into a stir.
Sometimes I cannot hear her voice,
Or locate her presence near.
She hides, and lurks, and mocks me,
While I’m chained in loudness fear.
Revealed again she enters,
I beg and plead with her.
My side do not abandon,
Hum into life your purr.
Loud screams, rips and cripples,
My functionality.
Silent’s sound is gold and pure,
To my heart, she holds a key.
The longing grows intensely still,
Till silence and I are free.
A destined fate I welcome,
Oh where, oh where could she be?
